The flash on your camera also has a tendency to produce the ‘red eye effect’, which can leave you furry friend looking a little possessed!

If you want a great photo of your pet, then natural lighting is a much better option. So make sure to take advantage of this where possible.

With this in mind, photographing your pet outdoors is an ideal option. But beware, bright light can create harsh shadows.

That’s why overcast days tend to make for the best setting. If you do choose to do a photo shoot with your pet on a sunnier day, then try to find a shady spot, out of direct sunlight. This way you can catch your pet in the best possible light!

Photographing outside isn’t always practical. If you’re trying your hand at a little pet photography indoors, then make the most of the natural lighting in the room, by opening any curtains, so that the light can shine in.

Get Playful

Don’t forget to let your pets personality shine through either.
