3 Steps to Taking Perfect Photos of your Baby

Taking the perfect picture of a baby is often seen as a hard task; they’re constantly on the move and are known to be unpredictable with their moods.

However, taking photos of your bundle of joy doesn’t have to seem like a tedious chore and it is possible to take amazing photos of your little ones – no matter what age they are!

Here are our top tips for taking the best possible photos of your baby, even if they don’t feel like cooperating!

Spontaneity is Key

Unlike older children and adults, you can’t ask a baby to smile or pose for the camera, so it is important that you have some form of camera nearby at all times to catch those spontaneous happy moments.

It doesn’t have to be a fancy camera – your mobile’s camera function will suffice. In fact, the smaller the camera, the less distracted your baby will be, making the shots that you capture a lot more natural and you will capture your baby’s personality completely.

Get Their Siblings Involved

There’s nothing more rewarding as a parent than seeing your children get along and grow up together.

Taking photographs of your new baby in the arms of their brothers or sisters is a great way to document memories which they probably won’t remember in the future. The photos will also be great to use for placing in photo frames around the home, documenting the sibling bond throughout the years.

It’s also good to document the moments where they are getting along – it won’t all be plain sailing as all siblings fall out at some point during their lives; these pictures will act as a reminder to them that they do in fact love their brother or sister!

Focus on the Details that will Change

When thinking about babies, what are the first things that a person will comment on? In our experience, it’s usually “oh, look at his cute button nose” or “his eyes are so blue”.

Your baby will go through many slight changes in appearance as they grow older, so why not document all those little things that make you go “ahh”?  They will make for good reflection material when the child grows up as well as create great looking photo opportunities to decorate your home with.

Documenting the start of your baby’s life is a great way to collect memories for both you and your child for the future, so don’t miss out of those perfect photo opportunities!
