Letting your emotions control your finances?

Letting your emotions control your finances?

According to money education charity Credit Action, UK personal debt grows by £171million every day – £7.13million an hour, £119,000 a minute or almost £2,000 a second. What is causing us to continually get into debt?

One of the key issues for people in debt is their frame of mind. Subconscious mind responds to habitual thinking and whatever you give your subconscious, it registers it so be careful blaming others and complaining about your current situation.
You get more of what you focus on. If you focus on poverty and debt, you will tend to get more of that in your life. If you focus on wealth that you already have, you will tend to get more of that as well. If you cannot see the wealth you have already, just count the things you have that money cannot buy.

When someone talks about all the bills they have to pay, blame others and get aggressive there is usually “more to the story.” It is a very stressful situation but being in control and making a decision is a great first step. If you are going to be debt free, you have to believe that you are capable of making it happen. You have to believe in yourself. Past is past. There is no point in blaming yourself or the others for your current financial situation.

Why you got into debt needs to be also addressed. Why did you feel the urge to use the credit cards for things perhaps weren’t even necessary? What causes your compulsive shopping?

There might be number of emotional factors that contribute to our spending habits. Over spending might be due to boredom, low self esteem, childhood influences, equating spending with happiness, anxiety, stress, feeling better, guilt etc.

Facing the answers can be uncomfortable, but if you don’t face them, you may never get out of this vicious circle or control your spending and your debt.
Some people believe how much money they have determines their worth. A person’s worth has nothing to do with how much money he/she has. It might be easier said than done however you truly need to believe this in your heart. Your worth has nothing to do with your wealth or lack of it. Once you believe this, your ability to create more abundance in your life will be more possible.

Overspending has many different causes, but it is important to remember that they all have solutions. Perhaps when you use credit cards, you don’t feel like you are spending your own money. Most people are much less likely to buy when paying with cash as opposed to credit cards. Leaving your credit cards at home or destroying them is a great way to keep an eye on your spending. Use cash or a debit card instead. Another way to deal with your habit to overspend is let some one else take charge. Family members or your spouse might be able to help you by buying things for you. You decide a budget and hand over the money to them. Seasonal sales can also lead you to overspend. If you are going to make the most of seasonal sales, buy only when you really need something.

Right now, your subconscious mind with the limiting beliefs may be keeping you from living in abundance and financial success, but as you begin to build up a positive attitude about yourself and about money, you’ll attract positive things into your life. As you do so, you’ll feel less of a need to generate positive emotions by purchasing things, and you’ll find it easier to stop buying items you don’t really need.
Carry nothing els

There are hundreds of blogs, books, web sites and debt consultancy firms to help you in getting rid of debt. Some of them offer good advice about the psychological aspects of money and spending that you’d do well to consider. Asking for help is a powerful secret to happiness and success once you make a decision. Don’t hold yourself back by asking for the information, assistance, time and support.

Changing your attitude, looking at things differently and asking for assistance could make your dreams come true. Choose one action and do it. Make a complete list of your debts and creditors. Some people panic at this point but still go ahead and do it. Your debt is not a permanent condition. It’s a situation. You didn’t always have it; you won’t have it forever. Make a decision of leaving debt behind and take an action. You cannot get out of debt by borrowing more money. You know what to do!

If you are not living your dream life, and do not have joy, peace, harmony and in your life, it is time to make changes. As it has been quoted by Einstein, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.”

Towards a new future

Most of us have the potential to be successful in life. It all depends on determined we are to be successful. It is time to face our inner sense of deprivation and take action in the direction of changing it. Make sure your thoughts and beliefs are in alignment with your desired outcome. Complaining about your current situation, talking about it, blaming, getting angry will not help. It is essential that you focus only on the outcome you desire, and not the lack of whatever it is that you desire. The more you look for the good, sooner and more often you will find it.

There is a classic book I recommend you read: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. If you want to be rich, you need to think like one! What we think and what we say to ourselves becomes our reality. Our beliefs and thoughts do become our reality. This is probably why people who struggle financially. Their emotions and subconscious mind often do the talking and run their lives.

“If you think you can, or you think you can’t, then you’re right.” Henry Ford

Oneness Project

August 10th, 2012

“Peace at home, peace in the world. Mankind is a single body and each nation is a part of that body. We must never say ‘What does it matter to me if some part of the world is ailing?’ If there is such an illness, we must concern ourselves with it as if we ourselves had that illness.” Mustafa Kemal Atatürk

Atatürk knew the value of peace and when I read his words about peace in the country, peace in the world, I couldn’t help but think that he meant Oneness in all aspects of our lives. I feel that he was referring to the nonexistence of duality. Our ego might insist that we are separate from others however we need to look beneath our illusions to be able to grasp the unity consciousness. Ataturk knew how not to isolate himself from other parts of the world. When you share the pain of another who might be living in another country and reach out in anyway that you can, I am sure you will experience the oneness with that person.

Oneness is embracing all human kind, plants, animals and each and every creation without hesitation. We need to stop labelling each other and realise that each one of us is a citizen of the world. If peace is really what you want, then you will need to choose peace yourself first. Peace within, peace in your home, peace with you family and friends… When you judge others, all you are doing is getting lost in the duality illusion and in fact defining yourself.

Since we are all energy, it is important to keep our frequency levels high by choosing love, peace, compassion, hope, wisdom and unity. Remember that hatred, jealousy, judgment will lower your frequency. Be light, be connected, be aware, be the best version you want your children to be. We are here for a reason. We are planting seeds in our children, for our future. There are no mistakes in nature. If you plant an apple seed, you will never get a pear tree. Make sure you are aware of what you are planting. I choose to plant love, peace, being worry free, generosity, unity and most importantly hope. Our words are prayers. Childre model us. We need to be aware of our words and our behaviours. We create our world as we speak. That is what Abracadabra means in the language of Aramaic, create as you speak…

Inner peace can be achieved if you choose to see the Oneness in every person, every creature, every garden, every country, every home. Unfortunately reading these types of articles or even talking about them is not enough. One needs to read, digest, apply to his/her life then share the miracles of Oneness with others. Make an effort to look into eyes of people you come across during your daily routine, spend a day consciously noticing animals and their behaviours. You can learn a lot from nature. Animals are so full of wisdom and knowing. They are here to serve humankind and show unconditional love.

So open up to possibilities and look at nature from the eyes of Oneness. There is no here and there, you and I…We are all ONE.

The hand that gives, is the hand that receives…

July 12th, 2012

Make sure you protect the earth! But don’t be mistaken by thinking that the earth will not protect us while we are protecting it. He who provides protection, also gets protection for sure. He is the one who protects himself. The hand that gives, is the hand that receives. A brand new page is starting as of today. A page that where there is giving but not expecting of receiving.

HAPPY JULY!

July 3rd, 2012

HAPPY JULY!

How are you feeling? Overtired? Overstressed? Overworked?
It’s easy to be positive when everything in life is going great. The hard part is staying positive when things go wrong.

Here are some tips to take you to a different consciousness;

1. Do what you love to do. Do what you love to do, to make a difference! Successful people win because they love what they do. All of them have a very strong desire to succeed. Having passion for the field or the business you are in makes all the difference.

2. Do your best. Do your best at every job. Success generates more success. Under any circumstance, simply do your best. Doing your best is taking an action because you love it, not because you’re expecting a reward.

3. Thing big- Thoughts become things. So why would you give any power to what you don’t want in your life? Think BIG thoughts and have BIG dreams. And when you doubt, say “Why not?”

4. Dare to be different, think different. Best to celebrate our differences.

5. Ask for feedback. We should get feedback about our efforts from several different sources. Do not be afraid! If you are doing your best, the feedback can only be constructive.

6. Learn from failures. If you aren’t failing, then you really aren’t trying anything new. Don’t fear failure, learn from it.

7. Don’t Take Anything Personally: Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.

8. Don’t Make Assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings.
Staying positive is not being fake to yourself, it’s about being optimistic and having hope and faith. How we act during great times is not the measure of our success but rather how we respond to the challenges at difficult times.

I would like finish with a quote from Steve Jobs who is an inspirational person to me. Steve Jobs is one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our generation who has been put up for adoption at an early age, dropped out of college after 6 months, slept on friends floors, returned coke bottles for 5 cent deposits to buy food, then went on to start Apple Computers and Pixar Animation Studios.

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith.” Steve Jobs, Apple Computer

“The doing of something productive regardless of the outcome is an act of faith. The doing of a small something when a large something is too much for us is perhaps especially an act of faith. Faith means going forward by whatever means we can.” ― Julia Cameron, Finding Water: The Art of Perseverance

HAPPINESS IS NOWHERE

June 3rd, 2012

HAPPINESS IS NOWHERE

Happiness is nowhere or Happiness is now here…

Happiness can mean different things to different people. For example, for one person, it may mean being in a loving relationship, whereas for someone else it may mean having financial freedom.

When we seek money, or a good job, or a good relationship, what we are looking for is happiness. If we go for happiness in the first place, everything else will follow.

The true equation between happiness and wealth is this; that happiness is wealth. Happiness is really all there is and all there ever will be; all else is only a means to happiness.

“Happiness is what greases the wheels of life. It’s also what opens the floodgates, marshals the forces, commands the elements, raises the sun, aligns the stars, beats your heart, heals what hurts, turns the page, makes new friends, finds true love, calls the shots, waves the wand, connects the dots, feeds your mind, frees your soul, rocks the world, and pays compound interest.” – Mike Dooley- Notes from the Universe
