The Power of Brand Loyalty

There are many things in the world that are, incorrectly, defined by a brand name. Not all vacuum cleaners are Hoover models, but we still “Hoover the living room”, whether we own a Dyson, Vax or a Henry. Similarly, not all hot tubs are made by Jacuzzi, but that’s what many people still call them. That’s the power of a brand name, which becomes associated with whatever we use it for.

Brand Loyalty

A similar trend emerged when Apple launched its iPad. It wasn’t the first tablet computer, but as other hardware makers scrambled to release their products, the world’s media referred to anything tablet-shaped as an iPad and the name stuck. So much so, that even though Microsoft has a deal with America’s National Football League to use its Surface tablets on the sidelines for players and coaches, the commentators still call them iPad devices, presumably even after much training and legal reminders.

So, yes, there are many different types of tablets, ranging from £50 cheap Chinese imports with no brand names, through the Amazon Kindle Fire and other mid-range models from around £100 to £300, right up to leading edge models like the iPad itself, Samsung’s Note and Lenovo’s Yoga. At Camera Exchange Store, we have the latest models across all budgets.

What are they good for?

Almost any of these devices are good for a spot of web browsing, email checking, reading e-books and so on. Pay a little more, and you can probably do some light gaming, enjoy watching HD movies on the higher quality screens and they will have reasonable speakers to make listening to music more pleasurable.

The high-end models of tablet come with superior quality screens, speakers and anti-glare technology for a full multimedia experience, capable of showing off moves and streaming TV from the likes of Netflix at their best. They also have more memory, so you can run more applications at once, do serious work on them using productivity apps and use image or video editing tools.

Whatever your budget, you don’t need an iPad to enjoy a good tablet. The many Windows or Android powered tablets on the market provide just as good an experience, but spend as much as you can afford to make it the most enjoyable piece of technology in your home.
