Wi-Fi

If your camera has Wi-Fi capability than all you have is turn on your Wi-Fi connection, the camera will share your photos across to your phone. Make sure both the phone’s Wi-Fi and the camera’s Wi-Fi are both switched on whilst sharing your photos. If you’re unsure on how to connect your camera’s Wi-Fi to your phone check with the manufacturer of your camera or phone on how to set up the connection.

Also, you can use wireless SD cards to share your camera photos with your phone, but beware that SD cards can act like a vampire on your camera’s battery life!

Non-Wi-Fi

Unfortunately, not all cameras will have Wi-Fi capabilities. If your camera is one of them, depending on your phone, you are going to have to use a wireless adapter. For Android phones, you are going to need a Micro-USB to USB adapter. In addition, you will either need an USB connector for your camera or an SD to USB adapter.

If you have an IPhone you will need a Lightning to USB adapter. You can use an SD card reader to transfer the photos straight from the SD card, but to do this you must have the original Lightning to USB adapter and a working USB hub or the latest USB 3 Camera Adapter.

Tablets

To share your camera photos with your tablet, this can be done either through a USB cable or a SD card reader.  If you are using an USB cable, then connect your tablet to your computer using an USB cable, launch the correct drive from your computer and open the folder that has all your camera photos. Than copy and paste your camera photos from your computer onto the respective drive and folder on your tablet. Once this is done disconnect the tablet from your computer.

If you are using an SD card, firstly remove the SD card from your tablet while it is turned off, insert the SD card into the card reader and wait for your computer to pick up the external device. Once the computer has located the right drive containing all your camera photos, copy and paste your photos onto the SD card. Afterwards remove the card from the reader and insert the SD card back into the tablet.

Desktops & Laptops

For desktops and laptops, you can share your photos through two methods which are; using a USB cable or through using an SD card.  This is essentially the same method you use to share your camera photos with your tablet, so you can apply the same steps to your desktop and laptop; this time you only must copy and paste your camera photos onto your computer’s hardrive.

Hopefully with our advice, we have helped you become more “tech savvy” and now know how to share your camera photos across multiple devices.
